We will be hosting the first BIFF (Birkenhead International Film Festival) on the 29th October 2020. The BIFF aims to bring together a collective of filmmakers to explore the art of film from a varied range of backgrounds, filmographies and genres.

This is an open call to any filmmaker who is interested in entering the first edition of the BIFF.

For our first instalment we are looking for short films, which revolve around a theme. The first theme BIFF is looking to explore is Horror to match the spirit of the season. We are excepting applications of short films around 2-10 minutes that involve, explore or celebrate elements of the surrounding thematic components of Horror.

Please upload your films to YouTube or Vimeo (these can be private but please provide your passcode for the film if applicable) and post your submission through CuratorSpace.

This is our first event so please bare in mind that this opportunity is unpaid, we hope to raise the funds to work towards paid commissioning and screening in the future.

After submission our review board will curate the films to best fit the tone of the evening. The films will screen on the 29th October at the Bloom Building in Birkenhead. The deadline for submitting your films is 11th October, midnight GMT. If you have any queries please feel free to message us to discuss the issue. Good luck and good filmmaking.
