We are delighted to be opening our doors for the 6th BOOKMARKS Artists’ Book and Zine Fair at Edinburgh College of Art. This event welcomes students, graduates and professionals to explore innovation and celebrate the book form in its broadest sense with a focus on artists' books in education. BOOKMARKS will run this coming year on Wednesday 25th March, from 11am-7pm. It will be housed in the Sculpture Court, Edinburgh College of Art, The University of Edinburgh.

BOOKMARKS focuses on academic study, exploring how artists’ books are used, promoted and created in educational settings. This year we have a particular focus on how collections of artists' books and zines can be used in this context.

We invite applications from current students and alumni of The University of Edinburgh, students from other educational institutions and those within five years of graduation. We welcome applications from individuals and groups and you can apply for whole or half tables.

Due to the unprecedented growth of the event, applications are open to students and recent graduates only this year. We value the professionals who take part immensely and therefore the organisers will curate a selection of different professional artists, designers, collectives and institutions each year to compliment a range of student and graduate stalls. If you are interested in taking part as a professional, please contact the curators via the link below.

The BOOKMARKS staff and student board are curating a range of talks, workshops and exhibitions to run alongside the fair.

Previous participants include students from ECA, Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College and Duncan of Jordanstone as well as Edinburgh Zine Library, Out of the Blueprint and Bound Unbound.

The fair will offer visitors the chance to see and handle the work, meet the artists and designers and purchase an exciting array of artists’ books and zines.

Apply through CuratorSpace for your stand at BOOKMARKS. The deadline for applications is 22.01.20

Costs for participants

A fee of £20 graduates / £10 student price is required per stand towards the expenses of running the event. There is no reduction for half tables unfortunately as the funding covers publicity, catering and other expenses.
