We are looking for an emerging curator or cultural manager interested in gaining hands-on experience in the curation and coordination of art residencies based on Painting, Drawings, Ceramics and cutting-edge technology mixed with traditional art. The selected participant will collaborate directly with CAFI’s artistic direction team to support the implementation of our international residency programs.

Creative Art Farm in Italy (CAFI APS) is a cultural organization based in rural Tuscany that promotes innovation in the visual arts, community engagement, and sustainable creativity.

Through artistic residencies, workshops, and European projects, CAFI connects artists, curators, and educators in a network that blends art, nature, and digital innovation.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an emerging curator or cultural manager interested in gaining hands-on experience in the curation and coordination of art residencies in collaboration with Bianca and Giampiero, artists and managers of the Association.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the curatorial planning of the one/two week art residencies, from concept to schedule.
  • Participate in online pre-departure meetings with the incoming group of artists to identify shared interests and needs.
  • Support the organisation and documentation of exhibitions, open studios, and public events.
  • Contribute to curatorial writing (texts, artist statements, communication materials).
  • Provide on-site support to artists during their stay, helping with logistics, materials, and communication with local partners.
  • Assist the CAFI team in developing new ideas and formats for future art and cultural exchange projects.

Working Environment

You will be based at CAFI’s main space in Acquaviva di Montepulciano, a rural creative hub surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.

You will work in close collaboration with the resident artists and project managers.

The experience offers the chance to explore the relationship between art, nature, and community while learning how to design and manage international art residencies within a European context.

Ideal Profile

  • Emerging curator, cultural manager, or art historian
  • Strong interest in contemporary art, social practice, sustainability and facilitation.
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working in an intercultural and rural environment
  • Fluent in English (Italian is a plus)

What we offer

  • Accommodation: Shared room in shared Casa Salcheto in Acquaviva di Montepulciano, Tuscany (Italy)
  • Financial Support: Covered under the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs mobility program. CAFI will follow you to get this grant being Accredited Organization in the European Program. Through this grant, you will receive a fixed monthly amount of 900€, part of which will cover accommodation and food expenses (about 500€ per month), while the remaining portion will serve as your personal allowance.

What can you learn from CAFI?

We are an organisation active in the field of Art and Culture for over 10 years.

During your experience with us, you will learn how to:

  • Organise and manage Art Residencies, from concept to implementation;
  • Make an art and cultural association financially sustainable through strategic planning and partnerships;
