Who is eligible for this opportunity?
Individual, emerging and established visual artists working in all media.
When is the deadline?
5.00pm on Friday, 19th April 2019
Is there accommodation provided for the residency?
At the present time there is no accommodation available for residency artists, however, we are happy to provide in-kind and mentoring support for individual funding applications.
Is there any money available for support with subsistence or materials?
We are a self-funding artist-led community and we regret that we are unable to help with financial support for the residency, beyond the in-kind support stated.
Can I stay in the caravan?
No, the caravan has been completely refitted as a working studio and you are not permitted to live in it.
Is the caravan wheelchair accessible?
The caravan has a step up and narrow doors, which unfortunately means that it is not wheelchair accessible. However, if you are a wheelchair user and would like a residency with us, please apply and if your application is successful then we will make alternative arrangements for your residency work-space. Please note that our gallery, kitchen and toilets are fully accessible.
Does the proposal have to be about the caravan?
No, your proposal can be about any area of practice you would like the opportunity to focus on.
Can I propose a collaboration with another artist for the residency?
Yes, we have previously hosted several successful collaborations and welcome proposals from collectives or pairs of artists who wish to collaborate.
How many hours would I have to be on site?
We want to be as flexible as possible, so the number of hours is up to you, however, we believe that to benefit fully from the residency and the community around you, you should expect to be present for a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Is there WiFi available?
Yes, residency artists will have free access to the Cambridge Artworks WiFi.
How many residency opportunities are there?
We will be selecting 5-8 artists to be in residence between May and September 2019.
