Established in 2010, the Carre Gallery is Sleaford's only visual arts gallery, and is operated by the Sleaford Gallery Arts Trust. It exists to support the emergence and development of Lincolnshire based artists, and welcomes enquiries and applications from individual and collectives.

The Carre Gallery comprises three ground floor rooms, two of which have prominent frontage to Carre Street. The gallery is centrally-heated, with ample naturall light and gallery lighting. The gallery can be hired as one exhibitions space, or subdvided into three separate rooms and is available for hire by artists for solo or group exhibitions. Key information about our gallery space:

  • 32 metres of linear wall-space for use by hirers with gallery hanging system in place across the gallery

  • Prominent location within Sleaford Town Centre - 10 mins walk from Sleaford train station and almost opposite Sleaford Hub; an Arts Counci England NPO (National Portfoliio Organisation) and a national centre for craft and design

  • Excellent frontage to Carre Street, with ample parking provision via several car parks within five minutes walk

  • Available to hire for a minimum of one week, and to a maximum of three weeks

  • Available for solo shows or groups

  • Carre Gallery also hosts a permanent display relating to Charles Haslewood Shannon (1863 – 1937), perhaps Sleaford’s most famous artist

Fees and commission charges

Gallery hire fees start from £110 for the first week (for all three rooms), and £90 thereafter.

25% commission is charged on all sales.

Along with hire of the space itself, we will support artists as much as we can, including:

  • Volunteers to assist with invigilation, if required

  • Marketing support will include listing exhibitions on EventBrite, CuratorSpace, CVAN East Midlands and ArtRabbit, unless hirer requests otherwise

  • Social media marketing support
