If you're at all interested in process or time based work then please read on! "Choice Material" is a new project being produced in Turin, Italy, that relies on audience participation. The work deals with various materials, the power of choice and the influence that you (the viewer) has over an artist. This is an open call for anyone who may think that telling an artist what to do could yield some interesting results!

Most artworks are made over a period of time. Within that said time, how much would you say that outside influences affect the result? Zero? A bit? More than you might realise? Almost entirely? Completely? Whatever the answer may be, this piece certainly addresses the latter. "Choice Material" is my second work of this nature that relies on the 'artistic decisions' of the audience and reduces my role to that of the 'maker'.

nyone can take part in this project. All I am asking from potential collaborators is to choose one object or material from a provided list to be included in an ever-growing collage that is mounted on canvas. This project will last for five months with each ballot falling on the weekends.

Further information and examples of how this process works can be found at #choicematerialartproject

As indicated, the project is being made possible via Instagram for ease of distribution and data collection. The range of material is presented as a Story at and voters submit their choice as a DM.

My intention, as with the first work of this type, is to credit all collaborators when this piece is shown here in Italy or elsewhere - unless of course you would prefer to remain anonymous.

If you are interested it would be great if you could join the current project and become part of the work. Recent times have promoted remote observer- like behaviours within the art market and "Choice Material" is an investigation into the connections between unrelated materials, people and places.

Please register your interest either here and I will introduce you to the project community.
