Creekside Artists is proud to offer its third annual Graduate Studio Award. The recipient will receive a free desk space and access to our project space at Creekside Artists in Deptford, for a fixed period of 3 months, from 13th January – 19th April 2020, concluding with a small exhibition within the project space.

The Creekside Artists Graduate Studio Award is designed to support the development of a professional artist by providing studio space and peer support in the recent months since graduation. Any students graduating from a BA in 2019 are invited to apply. Graduates with another studio of any kind, or who are currently enrolled on another course are not eligible to apply. The studio has a large clear wall with natural light and comes with a desk, chair, wifi and use of the communal kitchen area in a secure studio complex close to Deptford High Street.

Conditions of the award: the recipient would be required to use the space regularly (minimum two days a week) and hold an exhibition of the work they have produced at the end of the residency (April 2020). After the residency we will ask you to produce a short statement and images of the work you made while at Creekside Artists for us to put on our website. We will discuss with you how we can best support you during the residency, with things like studio visits, mentoring or group crits.

Creekside Artists studios host artists with a wide range of practices and there are no restrictions on the kind of artist that can apply. However, please be aware that some kinds of hot works may not be appropriate for the building, and we would ask that artists have a practice that will not cause a disturbance to other users of the open-plan studios. The studio is not a live/work space and although studio holders have 24hr access to the space, it is forbidden to sleep at the studio overnight.
