Open Call for exhibitors: Curated selling exhibition of British design.

Effects Design Market is a curated selling exhibition, showcasing work from up to 45 designer/makers. After a successful first year, the fair is growing to accomodate design from across the UK, and moving to a central venue in the heart of York‘s shopping quarter.

This year, Effects is teaming up with York Art Gallery and Coca’s day of clay, and Ceramic Potters Association to bring a celebration of contemporary design - Ceramic and Design Now - to the historic city. The fair is curated by two designers from York, Rebecca Carr and John Hollington, and aims to create a selling environment that incorporates work from a variety of disciplines including but not exclusive to; textiles, furniture, ceramics, jewellery, lighting etc...

Stalls are available in 3 sizes:

Small (2m x 1m) £200

Medium (3m x 1m) £280

Large (4m x1.5m) £370

You are expected to show a variety of your work at the show, and we need to see a quality of design via an online website to be considered for this show.

You will take your work home with you on the 6th October

Is there a private view / opening?

The private view is on the Friday evening and we hope to host talks on the Saturday evening

What are the exhibition opening hours?

10-5 Friday / Saturday / Sunday

What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?

We have a PR team who will be contacting national news teams and promoting via articles and some advertisements, we are teaming up with York art Gallery and the Craft Potters Association to create more of an impact and promote the show further. We have a social media package that will be sent to exhibitors to use for social media promotion

Do I need to be present?

You will need to be present to sell your work

How do you decide on proposals?

We have a team that will collate all applications after the deadline and decide on which designers we feel fit with our ethos. Successful Applications will be professionally presented online, your application will be selected if you can show a quality of products, please note we have a limit of 45 exhibitors for this years show so if you are not selected this time, please apply again next year.

What happens if my proposal is chosen?

You will be sent an invoice payable within 14 days of 14th August to confirm your stall. Once this is paid we will send out promotional material and ask for imagery and bios for all exhibitors.
