Sunny Bank Mills Gallery is proud to be hosting the KPP Prize for Art Architecture and Design: Forms Assembled in the Light, in collaboration with KPP Architects.

Sunny Bank Mills and KPP Architects are taking submissions from artists, designers, makers, architects, film makers, photographers and creatives working in all media, for the The KPP Prize for Art Architecture and Design: Forms Assembled in the Light, an exhibition that will take place in from 1st September to 28th October 2018.

Sponsored by KPP Architects, there will be a prize of £1000 for work that best fits the brief.

We are looking for submissions that explore the theme of architecture; place, space, structure, a concept, or a model. A plan or a drawing, a piece of stone or a pot, a fabric or textile, a film. A line, a curve, a physical building, or the space within or external to it, a poem, jewellery and more…

KPP Architects was established in Leeds, West Yorkshire in 1969, and since its formation the Practice has delivered a substantial number of high quality buildings throughout the UK, including the regeneration and restoration of Sunny Bank Mills. The Architects Journal’s survey of Architectural Practices, lists KPP in the top 10 Industrial/Commercial Practices in the UK.

Sunny Bank Mills is a former worsted mill in Farsley, Leeds. The Sunny Bank Mills Gallery is an art, design and culture space housed in a light and tranquil 3000 sq ft old cloth warehouse exhibiting work by local and regional artists and designers.

How many works can I submit?
You can upload up to 4 images of work in your application. These can be of different works or all of the same work.
When is the delivery date?
21st-28th August during gallery opening hours of 10-4pm. 11-3 on Sundays.
Are there any costs to artists?
There are no costs to submit or exhibit if your work is selected.
Artists will be expected fund the delivery and collection of their own work.
There is a £1000 prize for the work best fitting the brief.
Artist's work can also be for sale through the gallery. The gallery takes commission on any work sold.

Yes - Friday 1st September 6-9pm
What are the exhibition opening hours?
Tuesday - Saturday 10-4pm. Sunday

How do you select work?
Submissions will be judged by a joint panel from Sunny Bank Mills and KPP Architects.
Can i submit digital work?
Yes - include links so the panel can watch any digital media. If artists working with film/digital are selected they would need to provide their own audio visual equipment for the exhibition.
