Kartoffel Gallery is excited to announce an international open call for our upcoming exhibition season. We are looking for artists working within the diverse and tactile world of printmaking:
Group Exhibition in June-July 2026 (featuring 3 selected artists, Title: Alternative Worlds)
We are seeking works that push the boundaries of traditional techniques or master the classic forms of the medium.
The theme of the exhibition is broad, and we would like to showcase the works reflecting on the topic of alternative worlds.
Kartoffel Gallery is committed to showcasing the physical depth and technical precision of printed art. Whether your work is minimalist and contemporary or dense and traditional, we want to see how you make your mark.
We are a small gallery offering affordable art in a small format with the mission to bring art to a daily life of a broader audience. The gallery is located on one of the main promenades in Dresden in a Baroque District.
Eligibility & Scope
This call is open to all artists currently residing in the European Union. We are looking for small-format (approx. up to 50x60 cm) artworks created using manual printing techniques, including but not limited to: Monotype & Monoprint, Lithography (Stone or Plate), Etching, Linocut & Woodcut, Screenprinting.
Key dates
- Deadline for Submission: 10.03.2026 (23:59 CET)
- Announcement of results: 15.03.2026 (selected artists will be informed via email)
- Exhibition: Beginning of June, 2026 (6 weeks)
Application Info
- Application Fee (non-refundable): 10 Euros (this fee covers organisational costs and application processing).

(Please save the proof of payment as a JPG file. - We cannot provide the budget to cover artist's travelling or shipment costs (please see below what we offer)
- The works can be either delivered in person or shipped by post.
- To help us select the works, we invited one of the artists we represent, Modesta Gorol, a talented printmaker, whose spirit aligns with our gallery.
- If selected, the works must be framed and ready to hang.
- The works should be available for sale during the exhibition time.
- The gallery takes 35% commission from the artist's price.
- Application does not guarantee participation, and the selection will be made by the jury
What we offer for selected artists
- Exhibition installation and de-installation by us
- Vernissage with live music, drinks and food (typically around 200 people come for our events, the audience is middle-aged, in the age group 30+). No entrance fee for the visitors.
- Professional photo documentation
- Promotion of exhibition:
- Our Instagram (mostly local people interested in art) + our webpage
- Our email list (our constant customers and people interested in art)
- Local event platforms
- Dresden Art-focused channels
- The works will also be available in our online art shop (Germany-wide, if the artist agrees)
