Applications are now open for our Spring Open Call for artists: upcoming Group Show ‘The Entranced Essence’. ‘Being entrances the essence… it traverses the essence and transports it beyond itself… the essence passed and passed away, penetrated and crippled by trembling, fear, respect, admiration, even love or hate, pleasure of pain - the essence transcended, and affected…” - Excerpts from Jean-Luc Nancy’s ‘The Sense of the World’. 🚨EXCITING UPDATES: DEADLINE EXTENSION & WHOLE STUDIO SHOW! We’re going big! In order to accommodate artists working in all scales and across media from performance to installation, we’ve expanded our Spring Open Call show The Entranced Essence to take over our entire 2000 sq. ft galleries and studio space! You have an extra week to submit work which pushes the boundaries of your practice as we’ve extended the deadline to meet the excitement and demand building around this show. The new submission deadline for The Entranced Essence is Monday 8th April at 23:59 GMT.

‘The Entranced Essence’ calls on artists to push the boundaries of their practice in pursuit of the New and is open for applications from Monday 4th March, closing on Monday 8th April at 23:59 GMT.

The show will run from Thursday 25th April - Saturday 4th May, with the closing finissage on Saturday 4th May, 18:00 - 21:00. Find more information about this opportunity, as well as how to apply, below.

Showing at RuptureXIBIT:

Rupture’s third Open Call group show, ‘The Entranced Essence’ will take place in our Front Gallery only. There’s no restriction to the number of works we will show, but the selection process will be more rigorous, to create a more intimate exhibition than previous Open Calls.

The Entranced Essence’ is open to work of all themes, mediums and dimensions, including performance and film, and will run from 25th April - 5th May, with the closing finissage on Saturday 4th May.

Applications are now open and will close at 23:59 GMT on Monday 8th April.

Rupture is a place of risk. A place of play, failure, a place of precarious disruption to practice, and we belive that it is from that place that the New arises. Rupture is eager to support artists in their generative practice by helping expand practice into exhibiting work.

Be a part of our community:

Our goal is to help artists expand their practice through discussing work across disciplines and communities. This is why we offer a group critique for showing artists during the exhibition.

We aim to nurture creativity, by facilitating a space where artists can be open and brave when sharing their work. This critical element of discussion across communities tends to disappear once artists leave education, and is hard to find again.

At December’s ‘Lawless Imagination’ we hosted our first group crit and the overwhelmingly positive response showed us again that artists are hungry to come together and learn from each other, and that we need to continue striving towards this sense of community.
