Gwendolyn Gallery is nomadic Wendy house gallery space based in Liverpool created to provide artist with a platform to present work in a not so pretentious white cube space. Gwendolyn invites artists to apply for her 2018 Degree Show Production Residency.
One artist will be selected to work in the LJMU studios in the John Lennon Art and Design building for a period of 1 week, followed by the opportunity to exhibit In the LJMU Fine Art Degree show. So in other words the artist will come to liverpool and have a week to create and exhibtion with gwen and the outcome will be part of the Fine art Degree show. Simple.
The resident artist will receive on-going support from Gwendolyn gallery curator and tutors and students at LJMU. The selected artist will be expected to use the week to create work to be exhibited as a Gwendolyn Gallery Exhibition which will be part of the LJMU Fine Art Degree show and to document their time on the residency through Gwen’s Instagram account. The artist will have full access to the LJMU facilities and will be provided with accommodation, food and travel costs covered. Gwendolyn is looking for artist who work with live or time based art this includes video, audio. Performance, installation, participant practice etc. Anything and audience can watch unfold or be involved with.
