Call out for artists to participate in Higherford Creates an En Plein Air painting day open to all mediums. The En Plein Air Day will be Sunday 18th may 2019 10am-4pm in and around Higherford Mill, which is located in the picturesque village of Higherford, in the shadow of Pendle Hill, Lancashire.

The En Plain Air Day will be 18th May 10am-4pm in and around Higherford Mill, which is located in the picturesque village of Higherford, in the shadow of Pendle Hill, Lancashire.

There are many locations of interest in and around Higherford/Barrowford including Higherford mill,The packhorse bridge, Pendle Heritage centre, Barrowford Park and The Toll House.

Schedule

10am - Welcome, tea and coffee and registration/sign in

10.30 am onwards - Artists create work in chosen location

3pm-4pm - Artists sign out

Artists wishing to arrive earlier or stay later please contact us to arrange.


Conditions

Artists will create one final piece of work, which will be finished and ready for hanging 3rd/4th June 2019. Work can be delivered between 11-3pm on these dates.

All works will be for sale and subject to 25% commission. There will be a £10 administration charge per artist to help fund publicity of the event. All artists are responsible for their own Public and product liability Insurance. Prices must clearly be displayed including commission.

Artists will provide their own materials/easels/chairs etc. If you have any special additional requirements please contact us prior to the event and we will try to meet your needs.

All artwork will be exhibited in a group exhibition at The Atrium Gallery, Higherford Mill from 8th - 23rd June, The Gallery will be open daily 11-4pm. Artists may also wish to supply prints and greeting cards of their work for sale in our print racks/card displays during the exhibition, these will also be subject to 25% commission.

During the exhibition the public will have the opportunity to purchase work and also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork. The artist with the most votes will receive a solo exhibition at the Atrium Gallery in Spring 2020.

Artists are allowed one vote, but may not vote for themselves. In the event of a tie in votes the exhibition will be offered to both artists.

Collection of unsold pieces 24th/25th June between 11-3pm.

Payment for sold items will be by BACS less Commission by the 30th June 2019

Tea and coffee, toilets will be available at the Mill. Please bring your own lunch or your may wish to visit Pendle heritage centre just 5 minutes walk way which serves home cooked food.

Parking is available opposite the Mill in our large carpark behind the bridge in Pub.
