This is an opportunity for visual artists working across different media to submit work for the Wiltshire Creative exhibition “Insatiable Mind” held at Salisbury Arts Centre as part of the 2019 Salisbury International Arts Festival. The Festival runs from 24 May to 8 June 2019; the exhibition will continue until into July.

Wiltshire Creative is a pan-arts organisation that brings together the energy and ambition of Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury International Arts Festival and Salisbury Playhouse. It is an ambitious and innovative joint arts offer that secures a bright future for audiences, artists and participants.

We are announcing an opportunity for visual artists working across different media to submit work for the Wiltshire Creative exhibition “Insatiable Mind” held at Salisbury Arts Centre as part of the 2019 Salisbury International Arts Festival. The Festival runs from 24 May to 8 June 2019; the exhibition will continue until into July.

The festival will highlight the anniversaries of the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the Moon Landing of 1969. This is an open call for artists who explore the themes of curiosity, dissatisfaction and human endeavour within their practice to change the accepted norms and break away from constructs and conventions. We are particularly interested in artists working within the areas of art and science, art and politics and art and circumstance. The exhibition seeks to convey the notion of the leaving behind the comforts of the familiar in order to discover the unknown.

Art forms including 2D, 3D, mixed media, video, projection, sound, and installation will be considered.

Selected artists will receive an artists fee of £300 each.

The selection panel comprises:

Claudia Lastra, Executive Director of Arts Catalyst Centre for Art, Science & Technology

Prudence Maltby, Artist and Curator

Sophia Sample, Artist and Young Ambassador for Wiltshire Creative

Jacqueline Kingsley, Director of Development, Wiltshire Creative

Mirka Golden-Hann, Resident Artist, Wiltshire Creative
