An exhibition open to all UK based artists.

This annual group show was established in 2015 and we're very excited to return to Leeds Playhouse. The exhibition will be open to the public 22 July - 7 Sept and will also be online via www.courtspencer.com

The 2023 Leeds Summer Group Show will be an eclectic exhibition celebrating talent from Leeds and beyond. It is open to all UK based artists. There is no theme though we are looking for pre-existing, wall-based work and can be hung on the hanging system in the venue (please see the FAQs for further details).

Please note when submitting images these will need to be as jpegs and ready to be uploaded onto the website that will accompany the exhibition.

We encourage you to price your work. A 25% commission will be taken on all sales so please account for that when pricing your works. Prices will be listed on the website with buyers responsible for paying for postage and packaging. We will oversee invoicing, payments, packaging and postage. Artists will be asked to invoice us at the end of the show for any works sold.

By submitting works you are agreeing, if selected, to allow us to use images of your work on the website and for promotional material related to this exhibition.

There is a submission fee of £10.94 which allows you to make up to 5 submissions of individual works (diptychs, triptychs etc can be considered one piece, though must be captured in one image and prices as one piece). This fee is to contribute towards admin and associated costs with putting on the exhibition. If the fee is a barrier that will stop you from submitting please message us.

Please submit each artwork as a separate submission. After you have sent the first submission and paid the fee, you will be able to make four further submissions.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 25 June at midnight (BST). Please read the FAQ section carefully for the information you’ll need to know to submit work. And please also refer to the examples given in the submission form.

The selection panel is made up of Courtney Spencer (artist, curator and founder of The Art Court), Nigel Walsh (Curator of Contemporary Art at Leeds Art Gallery) and Helen Dryden (artist and curator of Compact Contemporary).  The panel will meet the week of the deadline and artists will find out if their work has been selected by 3 July.

This exhibition is co-curated by Courtney Spencer and Helen Dryden in association with Leeds Playhouse.
