A literary arts zine, 'LIKE' focuses on using creatively alternative ways of communicating the experiences of living with invisible illnesses. This is an open call for submissions of writing in any form for the first issue of the zine on the topic of 'Impact'.

This could be the impact on your life as a whole, your relationships, the impact on your body, there are no restrictions.

Communicating my experience of living with a chronic illness is something that I have always struggled to vocalise to doctors, family, friends, everyone really, my aim with 'LIKE' is to create a zine that highlights the experience of invisible conditions using alternate ways of communication.

There is no cost to being a part of the zine, I would love to get to the point where I am able to pay contributors.

Each chosen piece will include the artists/ groups name/s or if you would rather it can be published anonymously.

All participating artists will receive a link to an online copy of the zine with the option to purchase a physical copy at a discounted rate.

Please reach out to me with any questions, this is open to anyone anywhere in the world and is not limited to submissions in english. Follow @its_like_zine to see the zine come to life :)

Who is eligible for this opportunity?

Anyone, anywhere in the world. Submissions can be in any language.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to participate.

Are there payments to artists?

No but all artists will receive a link to an online copy of the zine.

What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?

Work will be promoted across the LIKE social pages (@its_like_zine) with optional collaborative posts with artists.

What happens if my proposal is chosen?

I will contact all artists to let you know the outcome of your submission. If chosen, I will confirm with you whether you would like to remain anonymous or what promotion you would like to be featured in.

What kind of proposals are you looking for?

Any form of writing including but not limited to poetry, letters, prose, quotes, essays, stories, any form of writing that you feel communicates your experiences.

What are the selection criteria?

All work must be in your own words and absolutely NO AI PLEASE!
