Making Space for Neurodivergent Writing Workshops: Learn how to let the words flow through you like rain.
Neurodivergent stands for: dyslexia/dyslexic, dyspraxia, dyspraxic, ADHD/ADD, ASD/autistic and other SpLD and Neurodivergent traits.
Magical Women is a group of neurodivergent women artists, creating empowering and relaxed spaces designed to remove the risk found in neurotypical and mainstream environments.
Our new series of Neurodivergent Writing Workshops will journey you to new and unique ways of being, seeing and doing using neurodivergent techniques in relaxed and transformative ways.
If you find it difficult to access spaces, struggle with social communication and interaction, feel isolated or are experiencing writer’s block, we invite you to join us!
You do not have to have a formal diagnosis of any of the neurodivergent traits but we encourage those who identify as neurodivergent or who identify with the description to apply. In addition to four weekly workshops, participants will have the opportunity to perform their work to audiences in relaxed Open Mic events.
Magical Women's online writing programme takes place 1st - 22nd July 2020 (Wednesdays at 7:00pm - 9:00pm). Spaces are limited, and will be allocated based on your writing and the application form below (please link us to 3 examples of your writing to us). If you are successful, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to purchase your ticket.
Costs
£35 for the total of 4 writing workshops (£8.75 per workshop). We also offer scholarships but only to those on low income or who are unemployed.
Materials for workshops: Zoom (downloaded) and writing materials (pens, pencils, paper)
Writers will have the opportunity to perform in an Open Mic event and will also have the opportunity to publish their work in Magical Women's literary and arts magazine. (Both these opportunities are optional for writing workshop participants).
Deadline for applications is Monday 22nd June, Midnight.
We look forward to hearing from you!
We write uncensored and topics might come up relating to being neurodivergent that needs to be honoured and held, not judged or looked at with suspicion.
