Theme:
Pub Culture! Whatever this means to you.
Times are tough and investing in your art is expensive so don't worry if you've not got exactly what you would like to submit right now.
If you've got some examples of other work, some ideas of what you would make for this theme and think that you could do it in 6 weeks - please submit sketches and outlines of work you would make/get printed.
Accessibility:
The room being used is up a staircase of approximately 30 steps. There is a handrail and a bathroom 4 steps down from the art fair room. Seating will be available in the room.
Please contact us through the 'Contact curator' tab if you need to discuss any possible adjustments.
Location:
The Swimmer at the Grafton Arms. The pub is located between Finsbury Park, Archway and Holloway Road Stations, about 20 minutes bus from Kings Cross/St Pancras. It is also accessible by bus.
T&Cs:
You'll need to be there! It's two days, set up between 10-1 pm Saturday and de-rig between 8-9:30 pm Sunday. If you think you can't - pop Dev an email if you're desperate to submit some work.
Punters will be encouraged to bring cash - but if have a card machine for yourself, or can organise one - please do!
Each artist is responsible for taking their own payments; cash back from the bar will not be available.
Selection will be determined based on artist availability and variety of work and styles.
We'll be holding 4 free workshops over 2 days to increase footfall and encourage community engagement - each artist is required to put forward a small workshop idea that they would be willing to do with people for an hour or two.
There is no application fee and no commission fees, but if you are selected, the cost of exhibiting is £20 to go towards promotional expenses.
Don't be a d*ck. Lots of different languages and opinions exist in pubs, swearing is most definitely allowed but work that aims to spread hatred or oppression will not be tolerated. This is a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
The pub has given the space for free so please treat it with the love you would give your own local.
