Bils & Rye would like to invite all new artists to apply to take part in our "Emerging Artists" exhibition, commencing September 2018. We have always put great value in supporting artists from the beginning of their careers, and will be creating a showcase of the very best of new talent in ceramics, sculpture, painting and printmaking. A fantastic opportunity for recently graduating and new to market artists who would like to have their work shown alongside some of the highest standard contemporary artists in the country.

About the gallery

Bils & Rye is a unique gallery specialising in modern british ceramics, sculpture and paintings

There is a relaxed, informal atmosphere in the gallery much reminiscent of Kettle's Yard in Cambridge, verified by many visitors. Settees and stool abound throughout the gallery which sits well with a hands on approach to viewing the exhibits.

The works on display have a consistency of quality, form and often function. Sculpture by leading artists including Simon Gudgeon, Nichola Theakston and Helen Sinclair sits alongside the exciting emerging artists like Tom Hiscocks and many more.

The ceramics have a Japanese inspired influence and tend towards arty porcelain works by some of the UK and Europe's leading ceramicists plus some gems from further afield.

Fine art paintings adorn the walls throughout the gallery and tend towards the slightly abstract with the occasional wild card thrown in. 2018 sees a major new show of works by Guy Combes and Andrew Denman, both Californian based artists renowned for their photographic painting style, both with a wonderfully contemporary twist.

More information on the gallery can be found on our website www.bilsandrye.com

About the opportunity

Whilst we make every effort to get to as many art, sculpture and ceramic fairs as possible in our ongoing search for new talent, we can't be at them all, and not all new talent manages to make their way to the fairs! To this end we would like to invite any new / emerging artists in ceramics, sculpture, painting or printmaking to apply to take part in our September exhibition. This will be an opportunity to have your work shown alongside some of the very best contemporary British artists, and have your work marketed to our international client base. This opportunity is open to recent graduates and artists new to exhibiting in gallery spaces.
