Now entering its ninth year uncoveredcollective is pleased to announce the details of their upcoming show... 'Electronic Graffiti'

"Then I went down into the basement, where my friend the maniac busies himself with his electronic graffiti. Finally, his language touches me, because he talks to the part of us which insists on drawing profiles on prison walls."

Our Story

Formed in 2017 by a group of practising artists our goal was to share costs to make exhibiting our work more financially viable. 

Over the years we have expanded the project to maintain and nature the many benefits that come from networking and collaborating with other creatives.

We have previously organised twelve exhibitions across london in a variety of venues (click here to see the full list) tending to attract around 200 people for the private view.

Our aim

Our main objective is to offer a snapshot of current art and art practise, especially those works that fall outside the commercial gallery and traditional museum systems.

We achieve this by transforming unusual locations into rich artistic environments, curating a show of eclectic works that compliment and are in dialogue with each other with the aim of showcasing the art and promoting the artists. We have decided on a broad theme this year.

The Location

Safehouse, 137/139 Copeland Road, SE15 3SN (two minutes from Peckham Rye station).

This pair of dilapidated Victorian houses form part of Copeland Park, the thriving cultural quarter of Peckham and home to south east London's thriving creative scene.

Housing a number of shops, restaurants, bars alongside a gallery and studios the location attracts thousands of visitors during the course of a weekend.

With its many rooms and unique spaces, the Safehouse gives us the opportunity to highly curate the show, giving each piece space to breath and the chance to highlight a variety of mediums in a breadth of styles.

We are particularly interested in site-specific work, that is work that responds to or is in dialogue with the location it is shown, in this case the Safehouse itself.

Although ALL work will be considered - this includes performance and film and video (although due to the equipment needed there are limited spaces for this type of work).

The Details

The exhibition will be held Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November with the Private View being held Friday 30th October, btween 6 and 9 pm.

Artwork to be dropped off Wednesday 28th October between 10 am and 2 pm

Artwork to be collected Sunday 1st November between 4 pm and 6 pm.

uncoveredcollective is not-for-profit organisation so it is entirely free to submit work.

The cost of the exhibition is then split amongst the participating artists.

This year's contribution is £70.00.

You can submit up to 3 artworks, although only one will be selected for the show.

Please fill out an individual form for each work submitted.

What we offer

As well as the benefit of networking with fellow artists, you will also have your work seen by a wider audience both at the venue and then across social media.

We promote all the featured artists via our Instagram account with over 1500 followers, curate the show, set up and take down, including individually lighting each work, provide wine for your guests during the private view, and finally document your work and archive it online.  

As we are not a commercial venture, no commission wil be taken on any work sold.
