Open Call for JustArt Newspaper Club Issue 7 Precarity
Deadline: 15/08/2026Country: United Kingdom | JustArt Collective
JustArt Collective is an artist-led initiative, founded in Hong Kong and now active in the UK, dedicated to supporting emerging and mid-career contemporary artists.
Issue 7 Precarity
Precarity explores the unstable conditions that shape everyday life and artistic practice, when work, income, housing, health, and creative opportunities are uncertain or constantly at risk.
This issue invites artists, curators, and writers to reflect on how precarity is experienced, reproduced, and resisted across different contexts.
Through artworks, exhibition reviews, and critical essays, we examine the emotional, social, and political dimensions of living “without guarantees,” and ask: Who bears the cost of instability, and how can art help us imagine more equitable futures?

About Us:
JustArt Collective is a dynamic group of artists and curators united by a shared passion for the arts. Originally founded in Hong Kong, the collective is now actively engaged in the UK.
Throughout our creative journey, we have recognised the vital role of community within the art world. Our mission is to bring together everyone involved in JustArt projects to form a vibrant new community.
We encourage open dialogue and the exchange of ideas on a wide range of art-related topics. This includes not only discussions about artistic practices but also the exploration of how to make art more accessible and visible to a broader audience.
By fostering these conversations, we aim to inspire fresh perspectives and a deeper appreciation for art among our community and the wider public.
Through collaboration and sharing, we hope to cultivate an environment where creativity thrives, and everyone's voice is heard. Join us as we work to redefine the art community and enrich our collective experience.
The newspaper will be available for pre-order, and the first print run will be 80 copies and will be restocked afterwards.
