We invite you to apply to be a part of our upcoming publication entitled Utility.

We invite you to apply to be a part of our upcoming publication titled 'Utility'.

Utility is 'defined as' : The state of being useful, profitable, or beneficial.

We encourage you to explore what utility means to YOU through your practice.

All responses are welcome, whether negative, positive, reactionary, or in antithesis to 'Utilty.'

Every artistic practice is welcome, but please keep in mind that submissions will be exhibited in publication format.

For example, if your submission is sculpture based, the submission will need to be a high quality image of your sculpture.

We will also be hosting a session to explore the remits of 'Utility.'

Feel free to attend if you would like inspiration or feedback on any ideas you may have, as a group discussion, and meet others involved in the publication.

There will be an entry fee of £5 to cover printing costs if your submission is selected.

We will be hosting a launch event for the publication at Corner in New Cross, an LGBTQIA+ cafe/bar/exhibition space.

Submissions can be a proposal / work in progress or a finished piece of work.

We welcome new and emerging artists.

Who are we?

The Etch Collective was founded by three friends seeking to connect with fellow artists and establish a sense of community that we felt was lacking.

As the Collective has grown, our core values have evolved. We remain dedicated to supporting young artists through organised critique sessions and group exhibitions.

Additionally, we strive to make art accessible to individuals who may not have had opportunities to explore their creativity through our workshop programme.

Our workshops have received fantastic feedback, catering to a diverse audience ranging from complete beginners to seasoned professionals. We aim to create an inclusive space that encourages artistic exploration and growth for all.
