Call for artists working with the female nude as a subject for 'Send Nudes', an exhibition which aims to discuss contemporary interpretations of the tradition of the female nude.

There is a serious feminist discourse which underpins the concept, however we are currently looking for playful works which have fun with the idea. We would like to include artists which celebrate and empower the subjects of the female nude and that also reflect the messiness of selfie culture as well as the strange phenomenon of people that you barely know asking you to 'Send Nudes'...

The exhibition is curated by Elisha Fall, Nina de Maria and Robin Spalding at Trio Project Space in New Cross. It will run from 1st -11th December 2022. We are emerging curators, so the show will be fairly DIY but with a professional finish.

The space is a former shop, so we are looking for works which are fairly light in terms of installation requirements. Paintings, photography, printmaking and (small) sculpture are all appropriate formats, however we will also consider performance and installation (although it should be noted that these are less appropriate mediums for the space). This will be an opportunity to sell works, so we encourage artists to submit works with this in mind.

Please send nudes...excuse me...images of 3 - 6 works and a short (100 words ish) text which outlines their relevance to the project brief. We look forward to hearing from you!
