'JUNGLE' Open Call to artists from katmapped.org will explore how living artists (aged 18 and above) have worked with and interpreted the concept of 'Jungle'. Submissions and the resulting online exhibition are entirely free of charge. All works within the theme of 'Jungle' (however that may be interpreted by the artist) are welcome, including collaborative submissions. A maximum of 50 artists will be selected from the Open Call submissions received and showcased in the online JUNGLE show in late Spring 2021. The curated show of selected works will aim to amplify and bring together living artists' works from all over the world in one 'gallery show' online during these tumultuous times.

'JUNGLE' Open Call to artists from katmapped.org - closes 14 March 2021.

For this Open Call we want to explore how living artists (aged 18 and above) have worked with and interpreted the concept of 'Jungle'.

The works submitted do not need to be new nor made for this Open Call. This is an international Open Call open to artists worldwide; as we are based in the British Isles, this effort will always include some artists from the United Kingdom. Submissions and the resulting exhibition are entirely free of charge.

Paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, video, textiles, ceramic art, photographic works and mixed media - etc. - all works within the theme of 'Jungle' (however that may be interpreted by the artist) are welcome, including collaborative submissions. A maximum of 50 artists will be selected from the Open Call submissions and showcased in the JUNGLE show in late Spring 2021.

Who we are: katmapped.org is an online arts forum created and curated by artists James Stewart, in Devon, and Kate Trafeli, in London. This is our second Open Call, following on our successful show in late 2020 ("YOU ARE HERE"). We select and curate our exhibitions from hundreds of submissions by artists all over the world.

To encourage as wide a participation of artists and viewers possible, our thematic shows have no fees associated with them, are online only and viewable within our galleries at katmapped.org and on our Instagram account @katmapped. This is not a commercial enterprise: it has been created by artists for artists.

Our curated show of selected works aims to amplify and bring together living artists' works from all over the world in a thematic way that is accessible and thoughtful. The resulting online 'gallery show' is viewable by all during these uncertain times when many galleries, museums and shows remain closed or with reduced access. Without the constraints of geography and expense, widely dispersed artists and works as well as fragile works, prior installations and other artworks impracticle for assembling into one show may be viewed together in one place online.  The katmapped.org initiative gives artists an opportunity to show their work to a new audience as well as to discover artists and works themselves.
