Apply to Space in Transit - Liminal Spaces

Theme:

Share your unique interpretation of the theme with any medium of your choice. 

Some ideas of liminal spaces can be physical or emotional.

Portals are liminal spaces, such as doors or hallways,  or tunnels. Modes of transportation include cars, trains, planes, and boats.

Similarly, times in life can serve as liminal spaces, a period of waiting or moving. Abstract/ representational/ or in-between works are welcome in any medium.

Please note: if your artwork requires unique installation please include instructions within your art delivery or hang them yourself.

Who can apply?

Artists living anywhere in the world in any medium over the age of 18 who are not currently enrolled in a degree-granting program.

Important dates:

Application closes at midnight  EST on September 15th, 2025.

Artwork must be dropped off or delivered by September 24th at midnight EST.

Exhibition opening September 27th 6 to 8 pm EST.

Exhibition closes October 25th 2025, and artwork must be picked up by an authorized individual within one week of the closing.

What to expect:

All artists will receive an email announcing the selected artists by September 18th. Selected artists will receive another email with the artist contract and additional information. 

Chosen artists will receive promotion on the Instagram page (1250 followers), website, as well as through printed flyers and press releases.

Our opening and closing receptions bring 25 to 50 individuals of various demographics. 

Fees:

This application requires a non-refundable application fee of $30. Applications will not be reviewed without payment.
