OPEN CALL Postcard Exhibition – All Shall Pass
Deadline: 11/10/2020Venue: Fronteer Gallery, Exchange Street | City: Sheffield | Region: South Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Fronteer Art
An Open Call opportunity for artists to submit postcard sized works for a group exhibition in Sheffield city centre. As the seasons change, and summer becomes autumn, we look to celebrate the changing world around us.
OPEN CALL Postcard Exhibition – All Shall Pass
All Shall Pass will be the first exhibition to be held at Fronteer Gallery; a new art gallery opening in October 2020 in Sheffield city centre. We are looking for 2D postcard sized work (6x4 inches). You are welcome to interpret the title 'All Shall Pass' however you see fit.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no private view for this exhibition, but it will be open to the public Wednesdays to Saturdays from 21st – 31st October.
Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work each. You will need to fill out 1 submission form per work.
It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £10 per piece of work included. Please bear in mind any financial implications should all your pieces be accepted.
Due to the short turnaround time for this exhibition it is open to UK based artists only.
The submission deadline is at midnight on Sunday 11th October. Successful artists will be contacted by Wednesday 14th October.
Work needs to arrive by 19th October at the latest, and payment should also be received by 19th October via Paypal. Work should be posted along with a stamped, addressed envelope for the return postage of your work you after the exhibition.
Work must be 2D. Work should be postcard sized (strictly 6x4 inches), made on a postcard, or on paper, card, or thin lightweight board (no thicker than half a millimetre before the artwork is applied) and cut to size.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
How to Submit
Artists are invited to submit postcard sized (6x4 inches) 2D work. You are welcome to submit up to 3 pieces, but works will be considered as individual pieces, (for example, no diptychs etc.) and successful works will each cost £10 if accepted.
Work must be unframed and made on a postcard, or on paper, card, or thin lightweight board (no thicker than half a millimetre before the artwork is applied) and cut to size.
Work should not have any hanging attachments, and we will hang work ourselves using low tack sticking strips, so please be aware that this will be attached to the back of your work and could potentially damage the back.
Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 1% to cover banking costs incurred by the gallery from sales. We do not wish to handle cash so all sales must be card transactions and gallery signage will make this known to visitors.
Please include a stamped addressed envelope along with your work to allow for the return of your work. If you wish to have your work returned by another means of postage (e.g. recorded delivery) we charge a small handling fee of £2 on top of the cost of the postage.
All work must be complete at the time of submission, and must fit the dimensions specified. Any work which varies from the original piece submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit a print, it will be your responsibility to print it off before posting it to us.
Thank you and good luck!
