Open Call: Submissions for AURA Instagram
Deadline: 21/11/2020City: Online | Erin Shields
AURA (aura.zine) is a new Instagram platform engaging and showcasing female identifying creatives. I am looking to showcase everyone from early to late stage artists, art historians, curators, designers, illustrators and more.
AURA
1. the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing or place
2. a supposed emanation surrounding the body of a living creature and regarded as an essential part of an individual
Inspired by Linda Nochlin's seminal essay 'Why are there no great women artists?' AURA is attempting to create a space for female identifying creatives to showcase their work, research or writing (-or whatever they want!) to a wider audience. The instagram will be interview based with the chance to submit images of artworks/exhibitions/publications and so on. AURA aims to showcase the 'female' experience by connecting creatives and showcasing the immense talent of female artists across as many fields as possible.
Open to submissions from:
- Artists
- Curators
- Art Historians
- Gallerists
- Teachers/Academics
- Designers
- Illustrators
- Any other creative based arts
The Instagram is not fully running yet but I am looking for submissions to be able to get started.
