We are looking for artists to develop new work for our upcoming Spring Exhibition. Artists will be asked to respond to the statement There's No Such Thing As Boredom, producing new work that explores and challenges it through a careful and considered development process.

To apply, we want to hear the inner-monologue that is triggered when you think about the statement There's No Such Thing As Boredom. We are not seeking finished proposals or completed works at this point. We want to get to know the thought processes that you, as an artist and a person, go through when developing a piece of work.

What did you immediately think of? Where did that thought lead? How did you go about challenging and questioning the slightly absurd statement? How many stupid ideas for potential works did you have? What do you think about boredom? How might you begin to turn these ideas into a piece of work?

Basically, we don’t want a boring application, we want an interesting one. Surprise us.

Please also included a bit of background into who you are as an artist, as well as documentation of some previous work, just to give us an idea how your ideas develop into reality.

If selected, we will then ask that you begin to develop a piece with the intention of having finished work ready to exhibit by the end of March.

As always, the exhibition will take place in a temporary space, which we will confirm in the near future. We are hoping to hold the exhibition mid-April, although this is subject to change based on space availability.

Artists who have previously exhibited with us are welcome to apply.

For all artists selected, we will require a £10 fee to cover some of our costs. Our long-term goal is to gain sufficient funding to fairly pay artists for participating, but unfortunately for now we require a little help.
