As part of a project on the BA Photography course at UAL, we are working on a proposal for a publication entitled 'Open Territory'.

We're proposing the idea of a photo book featuring photographic and textual work by current (2021) and recent (2020) graduates around the theme of 'Identity'. This body of work intends to cover the work of visual artists from selected universities to create a rounded perspective of the various strands that come with the theme of 'Identity'. M

More specifically we want to focus on what we have become as both individuals and artists since facing and emerging from states of limbo and prolonged periods of isolation, in turn commenting on contemporary understandings of photography. As coronavirus is something that has impacted all artists, we want to see how recent events have impacted the work that has been created.

Please, submit 1-5 images and a short paragraph (up to 200 words) which describes the work and the key motivations behind it. If your work features text - whether academic, creative, and/or employing other experimental approaches tied to visual culture, please submit a piece of no more than 600 words.

The deadline for submission is May 9th.

We look forward to seeing your work.
