Postcards 2026 exhibition - Open call

Fronteer Gallery are looking for postcard sized artworks for their exhibition Postcards 2026.
Fronteer are holding a postcard exhibition. The exhibition has no set theme, so artists are welcome to produce any work on any subject they like as long as it is postcard-sized.
We would also welcome 3-D postcard-sized works which can stand on a plinth.
Work should be on paper or card and should be A6/postcard-sized (10.5x14.8cm). Work must be unframed and will be hung using Command Strips.
Artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work for the exhibition. Please complete a separate form for each submission.
You may provide a short description of no more than 150 words, but this will not be displayed alongside the work.
UK-based artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £12 fee for each piece of work selected.
The exhibition will run from 3rd to 12th February 2026.
There will be a Private View event on 31st January, 4-6 pm.
Please note that the gallery is upstairs and there is no disabled access.
In return for your fee, you will get a private view evening with free drinks which you are welcome to bring friends and family along to, invigilation throughout, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts.
The submission deadline is 11th January 2026.
Successful artists will be contacted by 13th January 2026.
Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post.
Work sent by post should reach us by 22nd January at the latest.
Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during our exhibition opening hours between 13th - 22nd January.
If you have any issues with these dates, please contact us before applying.
Successful artists should pay their hanging fee by 22nd January 2026.
Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%.
Work can be collected from the gallery during gallery opening hours between 24th February- 12th March 2026.
If you would like your work returned to you by post, please send a stamped addressed envelope along with your work (actual Royal Mail stamps, not prepaid postage labels or any other delivery company).
Please note that if you do not send a stamped, addressed envelope, we will charge a £4 handling fee on top of the price of return postage.
All work must be complete at the time of submission.
Any work which varies from the original piece or size submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

ABOUT FRONTEER
Fronteer are a husband and wife artist-led initiative that creates exhibition opportunities for artists.
In 2020, we opened our gallery, moving in 2022 to our current location in Orchard Square, Sheffield city centre. The gallery has two exhibition spaces.
We receive hundreds of visitors during an exhibition and would typically expect over 300 visitors during a 3-week exhibition. Our private view events can attract up to 100+ visitors.
We have 2 Instagram accounts to share images of artists' work and news about the gallery. @fronteer_art has over 4000 followers and @fronteer gallery has 5000 followers. Instagram is our main social media platform but we also share posts on Facebook, YouTube and Threads.
