Prayers For Peace
Deadline: 28/09/2025City: Todmorden | Country: United Kingdom | Rosemary Holcroft
CALL TO ARTISTS - PRAYERS FOR PEACE 2025/26 - ‘WINTER SEASON‘ Art & Artists OPEN EXHIBITIONS SUBMISSIONS BREIF:Dates: 26 October - 1 Feb 2026 Delivery: 11 / 12 / 13 Oct Entries 28 September The human spirit and vision seem to be creaking under the strain of world events like never before.
We invite you to face this full on, bringing hope and joy through your visual creativity.
A serious topic, though a light touch, perhaps addressing underlying opposites may be considered.
This is an open and inclusive exhibition, welcoming all visual genres—painting, drawing, print, 3D, lens-based media—and embracing every cultural tradition and spiritual perspective.
Text and calligraphy are also welcome where they deepen or complement the visual expression.
Let your work explore themes such as:
Harmony, mandala, visual grace, art & soul, meditation, healing, symbolism, sacred geometry, nirvana, truce, reconciliation, comfort, order, stillness, invocation, the divine, and profound truths.
Consider engaging with the tension between opposites—chaos and order, suffering and solace, despair and transcendence.
As filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky once said, “Art is a prayer.”
He saw art as a sacred act—one that connects us to the divine and reveals what lies beneath the surface of our lives.
In this spirit, we encourage work that prompts reflection, awakens empathy, and touches the soul.
Smaller works encouraged max frame size 45cm
