Month-long exhibition opportunities in shop window in Liverpool city centre. March to August 2020.

PRIME EXHIBITION WINDOW SPACE IN LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE

Art In Windows is inviting proposals for month-long shows in two outstanding windows in an empty, grade II listed building in Liverpool’s city centre. The windows, perfect for displaying art, are at 5 Bold Place. They overlook the pavement at eye-level and are unmissable 24/7. The shows will take place between March and August 2020.

5 Bold Place will provide an exceptional level of public exposure for your work. Most public and commercial galleries cannot match the size or range of audience this venue gets and this comes with minimal maintenance and no invigilation as your work will be viewed through the windows.

Each show can use both windows for a calender month. We are looking for upto six different shows. Each selected artist will have to set up their own show and pay £25 to help cover lighting and maintenance costs. Installation must be achievable within a 5 hour period as we do not have keys to the property and must rely on a third party. Your show will also feature on the Art In Windows website and we will send out details to our mailing list.

Important details and dates:

Location of windows: 5 Bold Place, Liverpool, L1 9DN – next to St Luke’s Church.

Window sizes (approx.): large window: 3.2m wide x 2.4m high x 0.6m deep, small window: 1m wide x 2m high x variable depth

Lighting: In situ lighting is available on a timer mechanism.

Application deadline: 15 January 2020.

Selection date: 31 January 2020.

Exhibition dates: March - August 2020.

Any decision made by the Art In Windows selection committee is final and we are not obliged to discuss any decisions made. If you are not successful this time then we suggest you join our mailing list and try again at our next open call.

Exhibiting artists will have to arrange insurance for their work with regard to all aspects of their show with Art In Windows and also have a minimum of £5 million public liability insurance. We do not provide any insurance cover.

Art In Windows does not lease 5 Bold Place and so may have to leave it at short notice and remove/terminate any current or planned exhibition(s) with little or no warning. We do not accept any responsibility for this happening as it is out of our control. Fees will be returned where appropriate.
