Application for new members to join the Prism Textiles exhibiting group.

Prism is a well-established group of textile artists, set up to give opportunities to exhibit at a professional level. This opportunity is open to all artists using textiles as a part of, or major influence in, their work.  

Membership is maintained by successful submission of work for group exhibitions, renewal of annual membership fee and active participation in the life of the group.

Please remember that your commitment as a member will involve you not only exhibiting on a regular basis, but also offering the group your time towards administration, publicity, setting up exhibitions, stewarding etc.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

At the present time there is an annual membership fee. It is proposed that this year’s subscription will be £65 and this will be reduced to £50 for Early Bird payment. Please note that subscriptions can vary from year to year.

HANGING FEES

Each exhibition will incur costs towards the hanging of the show, hire of the gallery and publicity, (as an example, this years hanging fees were £90, these fees are subject to change at the discretion of the committee). Prism is a self-financing group, but the committee aim to keep the costs as low as possible.

To encourage new graduates we are offering a 50% reduction in fees on both membership and exhibition hanging fees for the first two years of membership. This is for graduates of 2022.

The 2023 membership application opportunity will close on 19th June 2023.

An administrative fee of £16 is charged to cover the costs of the application. Payment must be made when submitting your application and will be completed through the CuratorSpace site.

The full selection process will be completed using the digital images and information supplied through the CuratorSpace platform. 

Those applicants who successfully reach the second stage of selection will be required to submit further information and imagery about a piece of work chosen by the panel for review. More detailed information will be provided on reaching this stage.
