COLLECTIVE MOVES is a new cultural organisation based in Gothenburg, we create new work, programme cultural events and manage a cultural venue. In 2021 we will be delivering a new festival and setting up an Academy. We are looking for a full time Production Coordinator for 18 months.

The Production Coordinator is responsible for the logistical operations of our cultural space, and the production coordination of the new Festival, the Academy and our wider events. Additionally, the Production Coordinator will support the Senior Directors on the transition of the new company as it moves to delivering a festival while operating a year-round cultural venue.

ABOUT COLLECTIVE MOVES

We are a new SME cultural organisation, that brings together different artists and community to co-create new work to bring heritage to life. COLLECTIVE MOVES is the creative arm of HISTORIEVERKET, which oversees operations. 

What we do:

·  We co-create new artistic work, from intimate to works of ambition and scale across performance and installation.

·  We manage and programme heritage spaces; including ‘Port of the World’ festival and Gatenhielmska huset  our permanent home, where we stage an adventurous year-round creative programme.

·  We manage studios in Gatenhielmska huset.

·  The Academy of the Unknown, will see the delivery of a new skills and training programme in multi-disciplinary site-specific arts, benefitting people across Gothenburg, the region and internationally, by growing a new collective cultural ecology.

PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

Reports to  Senior Director

Salary  25,000 kr per month (dependent on experience)

Contract  18 months with possibility to make permanent

Location  must be based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The role may involve travel nationally and internationally depending on the project(s) you are working on

Hours  35 hours per week

The Production Coordinator is responsible for the logistical operations management of our culture facilities and the production coordination of Collective Moves festivals and events. Additionally, the Production Coordinator will support the Senior Directors on the transition of the new company as it moves to delivering a festival while operating a year-round cultural venue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Work with duty officer to ensure tenant needs are met 

·  Coordinate participant & volunteers according to performance production or festival and events needs

·  Coordinate artist, technical and making freelancers, personnel as required to rehearse, fit-up, run and get out and store the specified production all within the event budget. To facilitate the creation of and building of set, props, costumes and hire of lighting, sound, AV or other technical equipment. This will include liaising with the relevant technical and making freelancers, suppliers and working with temporary venues or site-specific locations, as necessary

·  Manage the participant, technical and making budgets for specified events and academy in close consultation with COLLECTIVE MOVES Senior Directors

·  Schedule duty rota & volunteer rotas for venues, festival, events

·  Contract tenants and hires, including organising quotes & booking

·  Establish production schedules for specified projects and communicating the content of those schedules effectively to all relevant parties. This includes keeping all relevant schedules up to date

·  Attend workshops and rehearsals for specific performance productions or academy co-creation activity as required and being present for fit ups, technical dress rehearsals and performances. There may be additional days working away from home on touring shows or site visits to other venues and countries

·  Draft risk assessments, method statements and event plans for the specific productions. This will involve ensuring that the production is delivered with proper regard for the safety of the artists, technical and making team, other people working within the venues and public and that all current Health and Safety legislation and regulations are fully observed

·  Making sure that all set elements and props are properly fireproofed and conform to regulations. In the event that specific Productions are filmed for broadcast, overseeing any elements of such filming in so far as it impacts of the original Production.

·  Preparing and delivering full production packs for ongoing COLLECTIVE MOVES performances, productions, festivals and events. This is to include set plans, prop lists, consumables, sound, lighting and video plots, costume, wig and make up and prompt copy.

·  COLLECTIVE MOVES is currently undergoing a significant period of organisational change as we grow and develop. Any new appointees will be required to show a flexible approach to this process,  which may involve revisions around job titles, roles at a future date.

·  Any other duties that are commensurate with the post

·  Good level of written and spoken English and Swedish

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIAL

Experience (previous roles, types of organisations)

− Knowledge of a full range of the key elements of site-specific performance, music, theatre production & installation, technical theatre (e.g. lighting, sound, video, construction, set construction, wardrobe etc), or demonstrably transferable knowledge from equivalent fields

− Ability to co-ordinate resources in a busy organisation and/or venue – with proven experience of planning, managing and monitoring budgets and resources

Special Competencies (specific job-related skills, knowledge, understanding)

− Ability to learn, interpret, understand and explain technical plans and diagrams

- Budget and schedule management

− Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and procedures in a site-specific / venue context and ability to implement legislative requirements

- Ability to nurture the skills of individuals under their supervision. Showing strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with individuals at all levels

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

COLLECTIVE MOVES has a wide range of projects happening at differing times, with many of our events taking place during evenings and weekends, and several roles will require capacity to work during these hours. This is taken into consideration when designing job descriptions and setting salaries. During peak periods, additional hours may be required, again this is considered when setting salaries. We aim to support all staff to work flexibly and according to their capacity and work closely with staff members to ensure a manageable workload. Probation: There will be a three-month probationary period for this position, during which your notice period will be one week. The notice period will increase to one month once the probationary period is complete.
