Open Call for Photographers Reframe: New Perspectives in Photography

The Mill Gallery invites photographers to submit work for Reframe: New Perspectives in Photography, a dynamic group exhibition challenging traditional viewpoints, reinterpreting familiar subjects, and expanding the boundaries of photographic storytelling.

We welcome submissions of all photographic styles and genres that push creative limits and offer fresh ways of seeing. Our goal is to present a diverse and engaging exhibition that offers a platform for both emerging and established photographers.

At The Mill Gallery, we always aim to showcase as many artists as possible whose work aligns with the curation. With space for up to 40 artworks in the gallery, we strive to create a diverse and exciting exhibition that offers something for everyone.  

Submission Details:

  • Entry fee: £25 (for up to 5 photographs)

  • Selected works will be curated by The Mill Gallery Curators

  • All works must be for sale, with prices set by the artist

  • Exhibition dates: 12th September - 26th September 2025

  • Opening Night: Friday 12th September from 6:30pm

  • If selected, all artwork deliveries must be arranged with the gallery via appointment on Wednesday 10th September.

Terms and Conditions:

  • All work must be original and created by the submitting photographer

  • Photographers must be 18+ and based in the UK (students are welcome to apply)

  • Photographic prints must not exceed 60cm in any dimension

  • The non-refundable submission fee is £25 for up to 5 photographs

  • The Mill Gallery charges a 40% commission on any sales made during the exhibition

  • Photographers must arrange for artwork delivery by an agreed date. Late deliveries will not be included

  • Unsold works must be collected on the Wednesday following the exhibition’s closing date. Storage is limited, and fees (£5 per day) apply for late pickups. Works left uncollected after 30 days may be auctioned for charity or disposed of. 

  • The Mill Gallery is not liable for loss or damage during the exhibition or storage. Artists should seek their own insurance

  • All photographic prints must be ready to hang with D-Rings on the back of the artwork to display using our gallery system.

  • Submission Fee - 25.00 GBP

The appropriate fee will be payable using a debit or credit card after the first submission has been completed. If the submission fee allows you to submit more than once, you will be able to make further submissions after the first. How much does it cost?
The non-refundable £25 submission fee (for up to 5 artworks) helps cover essential costs for staging the exhibition—including gallery space, lighting, marketing, and administration. All proceeds go directly towards supporting The Mill Gallery and keeping it open as a vibrant, accessible space for artists and the community. We do not make a profit from these open calls; as artists ourselves, we are committed to working for artists and nurturing creative opportunities.

Friday 12th September from 6:30pm
What are the exhibition opening hours?
Fridays 1pm - 6pm or by appointment
Does the location have disabled access?
The gallery is located at the top of a flight of stairs and, unfortunately, does not have step-free or wheelchair access at this time. Inside, the space includes double doors for ease of movement and seating is available throughout.
Do I need to be present?
Artists are not required to invigilate the exhibition, but we warmly encourage you to visit the show.
