A fresh new art competition giving representation to everyone who enters. A snapshot of the true face of contemporary art now. ​Are you a practicing artist? Have you entered art competitions and failed to make the final shortlist? Are you inspired by the real 21st Century world around you only to find that fruit bowls, floral patterns and hyperreal portraiture are the only thing that sells?

We've got a new deal for you with a new kind of art award. 

​It wouldn't be an art award without a big prize to help support your future practice. We've got that covered with £3000 for the main award. 

It wouldn't be an art award without the chance to exhibit in a final show. We've got that covered with our Refresh Art Award exhibition, showcasing our favourite 24 entries in June 2019 at the 5th Base Gallery in London. See FAQs for details of what kind of work we're looking for.

Private view Thursday 6 - 9pm

Open daily Friday - Monday 12pm - 6pm, Monday 12pm - 4pm


EVERY SINGLE artist who enters will be showcased in our online gallery for the month of the show and beyond. You'll get a chance to sell your work online through us (if desired) and more importantly we'll promote your work from the time you enter. So if you enter early, you might get up to 6 months of ad hoc advertising for your practice, art and website.

Fees: £10 for the first artwork and £6 for subsequent artworks - maximum 4 artworks

Do I need to be present?
It is desirable that artists should be able to attend the private view but not essential. No invigilating will be necessary by entrants.
Where will my venue be listed?
The Refresh Art Award Team are working on promoting this competition everyday to get you as much publicity as possible on instagram, twitter, pinterest, international arts listing sites and in our online shop. Please help by giving us your website and social media details and recommending 5 friends to share with.
How do I pay for my entries?
Entries must be paid for via Paypal to info@refreshartaward.com Please enter your PayPal reference number in the submissions form.
