THIS IS A CALL FOR ART FROM WOMEN AND GIRLS WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY BY GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN ANY OF ITS MANY FORMS. THIS EXHIBITION WILL ENCOMPASS THE 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GBV.

Exhibition: 21 NOVEMBER – 20 DECEMBER 2025
Deadline for submissions: 1 NOVEMBER 2025
Selected work MUST be delivered, posted or couriered to the gallery by: 14 NOVEMBER 2025
Artists will be notified of selection shortly after the deadline.
Artwork measurements and submission info:
GALLERY SPACE:
Artwork must not exceed around 110cm on its top edge (INCLUDING MOUNT/FRAME if applicable).
This is a guide only, if your work is substantially larger please contact me.
Plinths for 3D artwork have a footprint of 30cm x 30cm, and there is a chest measuring 100cm x 40cm for larger pieces.
There is limited space for floor standing work - again, please contact me if your work is very big.
DOLLHOUSE:
Wall artwork must not exceed 13cm x 13cm x 1cm (INCLUDING mount/frame if applicable).
3D artwork should have a maximum footprint of 8cm x 8cm x 15cm(H).
COSTS IF SELECTED (please note that this show runs for 4 weeks):
£35 per selected artwork for the main space
£15 per selected artwork for the window-based dollhouse
As well as having a physical presence, all artwork will be featured on The House of Smalls social media, website and catalogue.
Selected artists are invited to include up to 3 prints (any size up to A2) and 5 greetings cards/postcards/similar - these do NOT have to relate to the exhibition theme.
Please note that a 10% commission is applied to all sales.
Please take this into consideration when pricing your work.
As with show fees, any money raised through commission goes towards gallery rent, overheads and upkeep.
If artists are unable to collect unsold work at the end of the show, this will be returned by post.

The House of Smalls is a small independent non-profit art space proud to create exhibition opportunities and provide a safe and intimate environment for predominantly women artists to exhibit personal, intuitive and thought-provoking work in themed shows.
The House of Smalls is not a commercial gallery in the traditional sense (although many of the pieces exhibited are for sale) and focuses instead on the stories and life experiences behind the artwork, often rooted in trauma and activism.
