take to the greenwood - to escape into the forest. As stated in the 20th Century novel Maurice by E.M Forster, ‘such...can vanish’ into the woodlands. Those such, the LGBTQIA+ community, can escape from the world with its prejudices, judgements and threat; a retreat to nature for ecological, political and romantic stances. Forster also created the woodland Piney Copse, a safe space for him, his friends and lovers. Furthermore, literature like A Shropshire Lad, the tale of Robin Hood as well as texts about the Arcadian utopias of Ancient Greece and Rome, queer the pastoral.

I am looking for artists, in a variety of mediums, to display at Liverpool Art Space at CASS Art from Monday, 3rd August to Saturday, 15th August for a group exhibition.

Liverpool Art Space is a central community space within CASS Art, located next to the historic Bluecoat, which supports and encourages local creativity and beyond.

The venue endeavours to make work accessible as well as creating new and interesting conversations.

Taking inspiration from the term, "take to the greenwood", you are invited to create works about the LGBTQIA+ community's history and ever-evolving relationship with nature.

Due to the nature of the commercial venue, full frontal nudity in artworks cannot be accepted.

Deadline is Friday 24th July

This exhibition offers a chance for artists to sell their work, though this is not guaranteed.

CASS Art will take no commission on items sold.

I  plan to host a private viewing, which I would love featured artists to attend. More to be confirmed about this soon.

It will be an opportunity to have a first look at the show and offer artists an opportunity to network and let the general public enquire about purchasing works.

Although there will be no professional photographer at the event, I actively encourage all those participating to document their work with photography and the use of social media.

Promotion will come in listing the exhibition and PV on various platforms throughout the city, i.e Art in Liverpool printed newspaper, and digitally based ads and social media posts.

Moreover, the exhibtion will be advertised on the Liverpool One app, Cass Art's website and Uncover Liverpool,
