OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS The Biscuit Factory Foundation is delighted to present a national open call for young artists working across various mediums.

THE OPEN CONTEMPORARY YOUNG ARTIST AWARD is an opportunity for artists 35 years old or younger working in the UK today to submit work to be included in an exhibition at The Biscuit Factory Gallery in Newcastle.

OPEN to established and emerging artists that are 35 years old or younger, THE OPEN CONTEMPORARY YOUNG ARTIST AWARD will profile the successful entrants and raise awareness of mixed contemporary art practices. THE BISCUIT FACTORY welcomes submissions including fine art, photography, original handmade prints, sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles and jewellery.

LAUNCHING on Friday 18 May 2018, the exhibition will run until Sunday 19 August 2018. The Biscuit Factory is proud to be part of the Great Exhibition of the North during summer 2018 and as a result we anticipate that the gallery's exposure and footfall could prove to be heightened during this period.

All work included in the exhibition will be for sale, with 10% of sales going back to The Biscuit Factory Foundation to facilitate future opportunities for artists.

JUDGING will take place during the exhibition, featuring a panel of experts.

PRIZES - The WINNER will receive £1,000 and the opportunity for a solo show of work at The Biscuit Factory, along with a comprehensive press package. There will also be a PEOPLES CHOICE WINNER. Voted for by the public, they will receive a £250 prize.
