Fronteer Gallery are looking for artwork about the environment and the planet for an exhibition in March 2022.

Fronteer Gallery invite UK based artists to submit work to take part in a group exhibition about the environment. This could be work in any medium (except audio or video) that responds to the brief in any way you see fit, and should be no bigger than 30x30cm. The exhibition will run for 4 weeks from 23rd March and will be in the basement exhibition space. Unfortunately the basement has no disabled access and work is left unattended with no invigilation, although there will be an invigilator upstairs in the main gallery whenever the gallery is open to the public.

If government restrictions at the time allow there will be a private view evening.

It is free to submit work, with only successful artists paying a £20 fee.

UK based artists are invited to submit ONE piece of work.

The gallery is open Wednesdays - Saturdays.

The submission deadline is 21st February 2022. Successful artists will be contacted by 23rd February 2022.

Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post. Please note that it can only be sent using Royal Mail, and must the fit dimensions for a Royal Mail medium parcel. Due to Coronavirus restrictions only Royal Mail delivery personnel have access to the building where the post will be sent to. We cannot accept work sent by courier, including Parcelforce. Please note that the postal address is not the same as the gallery address. All work sent by post must reach us not later than 9th March 2022.

Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during gallery opening hours between 23rd February – 12th March. Any work which is too big to be sent as a Royal Mail medium parcel must be delivered in person.

If you have any issues with these dates or parcel sizes please contact us before applying.

Successful artists should pay their £20 fee by 9th March 2022.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

How to Submit

Artists are invited to submit ONE piece of work.

Work can be 2D or 3D, though unfortunately we cannot accept video or audio works.

Work should be 30x30 cm or smaller and can be any shape. The dimensions you give for your work when submitting must include the size of the frame if the work is a framed piece. Sculptural and 3D works should be able to stand on a 30x30cm plinth, or smaller. If you are unsure about the size and shape of 3D pieces, please get in touch.

All wall text information relating to your work, including the price, will be taken directly from your Curatorspace submission and should be correct at the time of submission.

Please submit up to 3 images of your work, one image showing the finished piece of work, including the frame if the work is framed, and two further images to show detail if needed.

You may write up to 150 words about the work, but this will not be displayed alongside your work.

Work should be collected from the gallery during gallery opening hours between 21st April – 21st May 2022. If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a fee which includes packaging, handling and 2nd Class signed for postage. Larger parcels can be returned through Parcelforce and will be sent Express 48. Couriers cannot collect your work from the gallery. If work is small enough you are welcome to include a stamped addressed envelope for return postage which will incur no further charge.

All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

Thank you and good luck!

Michael and Sharon (The Fronteer Team)
