The Ostranenie Theatre Moving Image Open Call
Deadline: 01/10/2021Venue: The Plough | City: Farnham | Region: Surrey | Country: United Kingdom | Anna Stevens
'Ostranenie,' in Russian, meaning 'making strange' or 'defamiliarization,' coined by Russian writer and critic Viktor Shklovsky. Destabilizing the relationship between subject and object, removing reality from its context and subverting the ordinary - the essence of art.
Calling all experimental film artists! We want to show your work at a moving image-based event, where shorts will be exhibited as part of a projected showreel. The artwork will be displayed in the candle-lit music venue, the Plough, in the idyllic craft town Farnham, Surrey.
The theme is open and all moving image work is welcome, especially experimental art films, but also including animations, recorded performances, documentaries, music videos, narrative short films, etc. The event will take place on the 5th October 2021.
Videos must not exceed 10 minutes or contain explicit material.
Please make all video links downloadable.
We look forward to seeing your submissions!
