THE SECRET SALON goes to MARGATE ! We are taking our cutting edge pop up Art Gallery to the seaside and invite you the artists to join us showing your work near to The Turner Gallery on a busy Bank Holiday Saturday on May 2nd in a prime location near Margate seafront. Margate has seen a huge regeneration over the last few years and it is a hive of activity for all kinds of art and artists. "You coloured me Blue" will be our first time exhibiting in this town and we look forward to showcase your work.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ARTISTS AND FILM MAKERS and TEXTILE artists FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

"You coloured me blue"

Somedays the hue of the sky

Because only you knew how to

Make me feel carefree and alive

Other days 

The deep of the ocean

Because you never knew

How to handle your emotions

You were the kind of blue 

That was full of life

The kind of colour

That made me feel the connection

Between you and I.

My love for this poem runs deep, it symbolises the many different feelings a single person can make you feel, almost like how a single colour can have various shades and tones.

We would like to include work that relates to this brief in some way, paintings, drawings, mixed media, abstract work, collage, photography, textiles. and poetry. *You may submit an image of your sculpture or ceramics or 3D pieces.

ALL SHORT FILMS AND DIGITAL MEDIA WILL BE SHOWN ON A HUGE LCD SCREEN IN THE CENTRE FRONT OF THE VENUE.

What's on offer:

A chance to show your work to people visiting Margate on a busy Bank Holiday weekend. We will be exhibiting on Saturday, 2nd May, from 9 am -5 pm en route to The Turner Gallery in a prime location on the seafront.

We will be advertising this exhibition locally and on the internet to a targeted audience.

The exhibition will be documented and photos shared with any one who can't make it to the exhibition on the day.

This is A ONE DAY POP UP GALLERY SHOWCASING YOUR WORK TO AN APPRECIATIVE NEW AUDIENCE.

This exhibition is curated by award winning artist Andree Adley BA, MA Saint Martins LONDON.

We will be advertising in the local area > shops / local establishments etc plus advertising in the Turner Gallery itself.

We expect to see upwards of 200 people over the bank holiday Saturday.

A3 ART WORKS ON PAPER to be displayed on the walls at the venue....

*This can be the actual piece such as a painting / drawing etc. or a high quality photograph or print of your work ie. Sculpture/ 3D works.

TEXTILE WORKS may be hung on the wall or from the ceiling.

**The exhibition will be documented and photos shared of the exhibition to anyone who cannot make it there on the day.

If successful a small hanging fee applies:

A5 works ON PAPER - £25 per piece (no frames)

A3 works ON PAPER - £35 per piece (no frames)

Digital works - £35 for three images

Film works - £55

Textile work A3 and under £25 (Larger than A3 by arrangement)

A6 postcards - £5 per card ( minimum 5 maximum 10 cards per artist)
