The Stalls are looking for talented artists and makers to take part in our Makers Market in the heart of Leeds city centre.

'The Stalls' enters its fifth year of hosting its outdoor bijoux Makers Market on the grounds of Holy Trinity Church, on Boar Lane in Leeds city centre.

Our aim is to provide a platform for talented designers and makers (new, emerging and established) to showcase and sell their wares.

At each market we put together a diverse selection of makers - in order to keep the market fresh for the community and tourist - whilst hopefully offering returning stallholders a regular location to trade from and build a loyal customer following.

Please see below for our market dates:

July 20

August 3 & 17

September 7 & 21

Pitches are £35 each

Please read the FAQs section before starting your submission - thank you!

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
We would like to hear from artists and makers from all disciplines i.e glass makers, printmakers and jewellery makers etc - as it is a bijoux market the range of work at each market needs to be kept diverse to keep it interesting for returning and new customers.
When is the deadline?
There are only 5 dates for makers to apply for. Applicants should take note of the dates they are interested in and make their applications early - allowing us a sufficient amount of time to process each application.
How many photographs of my work am I required to submit?
Please submit no less than 4 photographs (6 - 8 if this is a joint application).

The first photograph you submit should be of your stall/stand set up at an event.

The second photo should be a high resolution photo of your work preferably on a white background.
This photo might be used to help advertise this event.

The additional photos should be a good reflection of your work.
How much do pitches cost?
Pitches are £35 each.
Can I share my gazebo?
Yes. But please let us know who you are sharing with. Your application should be a joint one.
What is the selection criteria?
Artists and makers must make all of the pieces they intend to sell on their stall.

Stall displays must be visually appealing and have depth and height.

We don't accept novelty, copyrighted, toilet humour or profanity wares/items.

Artists and makers must have a valid PPL insurance policy to take part - you will be asked to forward a copy.

Makers who produce soaps, candles and items specifically intended for children must make sure they are creating products/wares that are compliant with current legislation and guidelines.
What is the selection criteria for returning stallholders?
We need to see that you are progressing as a maker. We would like to see;

Imaginative and cohesive stall layouts.
New ranges and products.
Signage - with your business name.
A considered pricing structure that takes into account the cost of the materials used, making and design time and packaging.
What size and colour should my gazebo be?
Your gazebo can be; 2m x 2m / 2.5m x 2.5m / 3m x 3m.
Your gazebo needs 'proper' gazebo weights.

Ideal gazebo colour: white
Do I need a gazebo to take part?
No, you don't need a gazebo (you can trade from just the table you bring) but this would be at your own risk, your work could be damaged if the weather takes a turn for the worst.
What happens if my submission is successful?
You will be asked to make payment within 2-3 working days of acceptance.

We will not chase you for payment. If we don't receive payment we will assume that you no longer require a stall and offer it to another maker.
What happens if I have made payment but can not attend the market - can I have a refund?
No. You can sell your pitch on to another maker if you tell us in advance and we approve of their work.
But we will not offer refunds of any amount upon your cancellation. Once you cancel - we will re-advertise your trading pitch.
Do I need to be present at the market?
Yes.
Does the market take place indoors or outdoors?
This is an outdoor market. The market takes place on the grounds of Holy Trinity Church on Boar Lane in Leeds city centre.
Can I park on site?
No. You can unload and upload your items on site, but you will need to find parking elsewhere for the day.

We suggest that you get dropped off and picked up.

You can park for free at Joseph's Well.
What time should I arrive and where can I park?
A last minute details document will be sent to all stallholders the week the market takes place - this will include your arrival time and give you some ideas around parking locations.
What is the trading time of the market?
Trading time: 10.30am - 4.30pm
Sometimes we extend the trading time.
