I am looking for talented, creatives who explore body image, food and eating disorders within their art practice. I would like to invite them to participate in an interview-based research study led by Alexandria Zlatar (PhD) at University of Southern Queensland.

The interview takes around 30 minutes and is very informal. We are simply trying to capture your thoughts and perspectives on being an artist with eating disorder/body dysmorphia experience. Your responses to the questions will be kept confidential. Each interview will be private and you may use an alias to help ensure that personal identifiers are not revealed during the analysis and write up of findings. There is no compensation for participating in this study.

The nature of the research is to explore how various individuals experience body image and eating disorders.  The researcher is asking for individual experiences with people (predominantly artists with Eating Disorders) Participation in the research will be voluntary. The participants acknowledge that it will be documented and utilized for research purposes. There will be a variety of questions asked to gain a comprehensive and expansive understanding of each participant's experience. The questions are completely subjective to the individual.

The questions are focused on the development of the eating disorder, the impact on their work and how it affects their self and current perception of themselves. The questions are left to be open ended to allow their own views and to reduce the possibility of bias. To cater to each individual, they are welcome to decline to answer any question and names are optional (although benefical promotion to the artist and their practice).

Participation will be valuable addition to our research and findings could lead to greater public understanding of eating disorders and the human experience. If you are willing to participate please let me know.
