SXRVXVE seeks video art inspired by Brit pop, class systems, social inequality, British domesticity, and domestic design and decorative arts for an immersive exhibition celebrating 20 years of Pulp's 'This Is Hardcore'.

SXRVXVE and Feeling Gloomy present 'This Is Hardcore', and immersive celebration of Pulp's seminal 1998 Brit Pop album. Responding to Pulp and Brit Pop's explorations of class/national identity and urban/suburban middle class aesthetic politics, SXRVXVE has curated a selection of public domain prints, illustrations, designs, and advertisements available for download here.

Using the images as a starting point, create video art inspired by Brit pop, class systems, colonialism/post-colonialism, social inequality, British domesticity, mod culture, middle class ennui, and domestic design and decorative arts as a key communicator in socio-cultural systems past and present.

Accepted works will be shown at This Is Hardcore at the end of March in Brooklyn, with accepted artists receiving an honorarium and promotion on our platforms.

SXRVXVE is an interdisciplinary curatorial platform dedicated to presenting artworks and projects engaging with social, political, and cultural systems of power. Read more about us at www.sxrvxve.com. Feeling Gloomy brings mysery to the New York masses: www.feelinggloomy.com.
