Based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, Unit 6 studio is an open studio and gallery who offer workshops, art sales space and exhibition opportunities. The Resident artist and curator is Lou Gilmore-George. If you have, or can create, artwork under 50cm or under £50? then Unit 6 need you.

This is unit 6's first collaborative exhibition since the new space was taken over in August this year. The space is in a busy area and Lou, the resident artist and Director has a strong following with links to art galleries, other artists, community interest and charitable organisations. Her portfolio includes working with east street Arts, Skippko and Empty shop (Durham).

We are looking for 50 artists or crafters with a selection of artwork in 2d, 3d, text, print, painting, photography, jewellery and any other work that fits the 'under 50' theme. The work can be either under 50cm or under £50. This means that it can be under 50cm however more than £50 or over 50cm but under £50. If you have a piece that is small but £1000 for example that is ok as it fits under the 50cm rule.

There is a fee of £25 to artists who are successful, to cover curator fees, venue hire, marketing and promotions, including a private view/open evening. You can submit more than 1 piece, any pieces after the intitial £25, are charged at £5 per piece. (so 3 pieces would be £35) Unless it is a collection, for example, jewellery.

There is NO COMMISSION taken on sales. If a piece of work sells then there is no fee to replace that piece of work with a new item. The fee is a one off payment. All artists should have Public Liability Insurance in place and are responsible for the delivery and collection of their work to the venue. Unit 6 does have its own insurance in place.

There will be a Launch/private view night on Thursday 1st November between 6.30 - 8.30pm.

The exhibition opens for 1 MONTH from the 1st November through to the 30th November. 11am-2pm weekdays (weekends TBC) Drop off and collection dates will be confirmed upon successful applications being notified.
