Call Out For 'Urban Biophilia ~ Your Sanctuary' part of Fringe Arts Bath Festival 2025: This curated exhibition will be a place where the 'outside' is brought 'inside' for a moment...where the healing power of nature is made manifest through the use of multimedia art installations as conduits for wellbeing in a beautiful, serene venue.

Update:

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen reasons, this opportunity had to be withdrawn by the curator.  We apologise
on their behalf for any inconvenience.

This call out may conjure questions such as: What does nature offer you personally? How do you respond as an artist, when she grounds you and surrounds you in her ethereal wisdom?

How does your practise help heal Mother Nature? How do your ideas empower others to take responsibility in our move towards a more sustainable and caring relationship with our planet?

What role do trees play as custodians of nature and what is our dialogue with them? How do you respond artistically to the term Forest Bathing?

Maybe you like to capture her whispering sounds, her curious aromas, her tantalising textures, or simply to rest in her arms and document this relationship…all forms of media are welcome and encouraged.

Humans must be motivated in order to instil change, particularly when change requires effort. Our planet continues to be threatened by our negative actions and in order for it to heal, we need to take accountability.

If we stop for a moment to experience how nature benefits our wellbeing, there is still a chance we can become catalysts for positive change in our world.

In particular, we’re excited to see how you respond to the term ‘Forest Bathing’ as this forges a relationship between the wisdom of tees and how humans respond.

You may be a 2D artist capturing atmospheric photographs, or a painter translating your own experience of nature’s healing power; you may be a sculptor, ceramicist or textile artist, making evocative objects that entice and enthral the onlooker; you may be a visual artist working with projection or video.

If your work speaks to the healing power of nature, tree spirits, land art, or the unseen, then please do apply, we look forward to hearing from you.

This call out is free to apply, if successful you will be required to pay a £22 contribution to the running of the festival, held from Friday 23rd May until Saturday 7th June 2025.
