'Wall art' at The Wonky Jewellery Studio
Deadline: 30/04/2024City: Richmond North Yorkshire | Region: North Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Gilmore-George Lou
Artists wanted to display their work and artist's information within a jewellery studio and retail space. 'No Commission'
The Wonky Jewellery studio in North Yorkshire is part of The Wonky Jewellery Company, Lou its founder is an award-nominated international artist and Silversmith/Jewellery designer.
The Wonky Jewellery Studio hosts daily, weekly and monthly Jewellery workshops and classes, as well as being a workshop and shop where Lou makes, designs and sells her work within the space. The studio is open to customers as well as passing trade but footfall primarily comes from people attending classes and workshops or customers visiting Lou for jewellery orders, repairs and commissions. The Wonky Jewellery studio is also part of AirBnB experiences and Get Your Guide, where people booking holiday accomodation in the area are directed to the studio as 'things to do within the area'. Group workshops are also held in the studio.
The space is situated on the busy trading estate of Gallowfields, situated on Borough road...along from the Garden centre.
Within this space, Lou is looking to share the wall space with artists who will display their work within the studio, alongside a small artist profile and links to the artist's website and social media. Lou has previously curated exhibitions for East Street Arts and Skipkko and is also a Tutor for York Learning. Lou would like to offer the wall space to artists rather than display shop bought 'art'.
There will also be a 'print browser' available for artists to sell prints of their exhibited piece as well as other pieces of work (space in the browser permitted). This is free of charge and no commission is taken.
The fee is £15 a month, for two months, 'Per artwork or series' (thats 50p per day) to rent the space (payable in advance). The fee is to cover the curators time and admin. The main purpose for this call out is to get artists work 'out there' and help promote artists work and online prescense.
You can choose to end or continue the agreement, after the rental term of two months, and also change any of your artworks if you wish. If your artwork sells within the first month, or at any point within the two months, you are able to replace with another piece of artwork. As long as it fits in with the space, theme, audience etc.
All artists will be required to sign a terms and conditions/agreement.
You can see more information by visiting Facebook or Instagram and searching The Wonky Jewellery Studio, or The Wonky Jewellery Company. You can also visit the website www.thewonkyjewellerycompany.co.uk
Please do your research before submtting, by visiting the website and social media. The space is not a shop, as explained in the call out, even though your work will be for sale to visitors. The rental fees are low to reflect this. Your work will be displayed alongside your website or social media information to visitors to my studio and to people attending workshops.
