We The Human: A Quiet Blue Wall, is a global project, a people project, a human project, designed and developed by an artist from the community of the neurodiverse at risk of suicidal ideation and attempted suicide for the community wishing to prevent suicide, their own or others, using the Cultural and Creative sectors to do so. Don’t be a spectator, be a participator. On a 30 x 30 cm canvas board, using only White and Prussian Blue Oil Paint, create a painting of your face in any style and help us build a quiet blue wall and change society for the better.

Please fill in the submission form before you send your artwork to us.

Those with the greatest insight into helping society evolve are those with the lived experience of where society is falling short. This planet and your existence on it is a shared experience, but one currently strained under numerous human-made crises, including an inequality crisis. But one area of inequality that needs personal safeguarding is the worth of every life.

It’s a project supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, hand in hand with the Arts Council England Let’s Create manifesto, along with Cass Art, CNC Projects, Creative Health Camden, Silvertown Studios, Redcar Palace, Tees Valley Arts and the Social Engaged Art Salon.

The work aims to run until 2030 when it will be archived.

There’s no submission fee or benchmark of artistic experience you need to climb over to have your self-portrait accepted, your collaboration and involvement are the precious bit.

To join the project you'll need:

  • Two tubes of oil paint, white and Prussian blue
  • A canvas board/panel - 30 x 30 cm
  • A few brushes
  • The cost of postage

On a 30 x 30 cm canvas board, using only White and Prussian Blue Oil Paint, create a painting of your face in any style, complete the participation form and then send it to:

Submit now to be included.

Please note by submitting your painting to this project you consent to it becoming part of the collective archive and the property of The Head of a Pin (CIC). A further collective installation of the wall to date is planned for World Creativity and Innovation Day, 21st of April, 2024.

Someone, somewhere or maybe even yourself needs a quiet acknowledgement that struggles with emotional and mental health too many times come from the complexities of how society is structured. We are society. Change is possible. Donate your creativity from wherever you are for the purpose of suicide prevention.

Society can change for the better.  Don’t be a spectator, be a participator.
