Opportunity to exhibit work in the 24/7 window gallery of Middlesbrough's newest arts space Pineapple Black

Pineapple Black is Middlesbroughs newest arts space, offering opportunities for exhibitions, workshops, talks, community engagment and events.

We launched our 24/7 window gallery on the 13th Dec 2018. This unique space is in a highly visable location in the Hill St Shopping Centre, right in the heart of town. Directly infront of the main entrance into the multi-story carpark, and located along a path that runs inbetween Primark and Sainsburys; Piineapple Blacks 24/7 window gallery is seen by thousands on a daily basis.

Pineapple Black is housed within what was previously an old New Look store. Taking full advantage of the large window display area we have built a stand alone gallery space that can run independantly from the other two main spaces, that is always on and always available to view.

This is a great opportunity for an artist or collective to get their work seen by literally thousands of passing people every day.

We are interested in proposals for this space from artists or collectives at any stage of their career. We want to provide as many opportunites as we can for this space to be used by different artists, so the exhibitions in this space will be for 2 weeks at a time, with a day at the start and end for install/deinstall. There is no charge to submit but there is also no funds to exhibiting artists either. Please take this into account when submitting as you will need to arrange delivery and collection of your work. We however can install and deinstall the work for you, if you can not travel to the space yourself.

We are interested in any artform, though proposals that take full advantage of the space available and will make for interesting, eye catching or thought provoking displays will be favoured. This is a 24/7 viewable space, that can be seen by anyone at anytime, so please take this into account when submitting.

Please see the FAQs and images for full dimensions of the space.

Successful proposals will be contacted to agree a date for their exhibition. This opportunity is to find artists to exhibit within the space from Mid February to the end of May. If there are any dates you definitely could not do, please include these within your submission. Another open call will be added for work beyond this time at a later date.
